To support Hainan’s goal of establishing itself as a regional aviation gateway connecting the Pacific and Indian Oceans, and to promote its high-quality development through greater openness, Haikou Meilan International Airport (hereinafter referred to as “Meilan Airport”), under Hainan Holdings, and Singapore Changi Airport International (hereinafter referred to as “Changi Airport”) officially signed and entered into a non-aviation business joint venture agreement in Haikou on October 19, 2024.。
Looking ahead, Meilan Airport and Changi Airport will strengthen their partnership by fostering economic and trade cooperation, cultural exchange, and transportation connectivity, supporting the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port’s “Two Bases”, “Two Networks”, and “Two Hubs”, contributing to enhanced economic flow and showcasing a dynamic model of cooperation between China and Singapore.
