On July 21, 2023, the 11th Commendation Conference for Hainan Province’s Model City (County, District) and Model Units and Individuals for Double Support (supporting the military and their families, and supporting the government and the people) was successfully held in Haikou. Meilan Airport was honored with the title of “Model Unit of Patriotism and Military Support in Hainan Province” due to its solid and effective work in supporting the military and their families. Mr. Li Zhiguo, Vice President of Meilan Airport, attended the conference and accepted the award on behalf of the airport. As of now, Meilan Airport has cumulatively recruited over 600 retired servicemen. It is also known that Meilan Airport was successfully selected for the “National Honor Roll for Enterprises Cooperating in the Employment of Retired Servicemen” in 2021, making it the only enterprise in Hainan Province to be listed.

In the future, Meilan Airport will continue to enhance its sense of responsibility and mission in patriotism and military support. The airport will establish and improve a long-term mechanism for double support, strengthen the cooperation between the military and the people, demonstrate the responsibility of state-owned enterprises, and strive to create a harmonious situation where the military is of one mind with the people, breathed the same breath as the people, and shared weal and woe with the people. It aims to create a social atmosphere where the military loves the people, the people support the military, and the military and the people are like one family, and promote the development of civil aviation transportation in the field of double support for a new level.
