Haikou Meilan International Airport Launches Relay Service to Ensure Worry-Free Travel for Special Passengers
Issue date: 2024-07-12

As the summer travel season kicks off in 2024, Haikou Meilan International Airport (hereinafter referred to as “Meilan Airport”), under Hainan Holdings, is embracing a surge in passenger traffic, including an increase in special passengers such as wheelchair users, late arrivals, and elderly travelers. To enhance the travel experience and ensure a seamless journey for these passengers, Meilan Airport, in collaboration with Meilan Airport Railway Station, China Southern Airlines, Hainan Airlines, and other entities, held a Relay Service Launch Ceremony at Terminal 2 on July 12. This initiative aims to eliminate service barriers, facilitate information sharing, coordinate service resources, and improve service efficiency for special passenger needs

As the air gateway to Hainan Free Trade Port, Meilan Airport has long been dedicated to creating seamless “air-rail” and “ground-air” intermodal services. Currently, passengers traveling by Hainan Island High-Speed Railway to catch flights can complete self-service check-in at the railway station’s exit if they have no checked baggage. Those with checked luggage can visit the “Air-Rail Intermodal Counter” in the airport terminal’s departure hall to enjoy expedited transfer and check-in services.
